How to choose your juicer ? The main questions is :
What do you want to juice ? citrus fruits or all
fruits&vegetables ?
1) First family of fruits : the "citrus
family"
The "citrus" are orange, lemon, and grapefruit.
Because they naturally contain juice, their pressing is particular : you need to
use a citrus juicer
There are 3 ways to proceed :
- Manual : Cut the fruit in too halves,
maintain by hand for extracting the juice on the turning squeezer.
Dedicated machines are
#11,
#52,
#71,
#38
- Semi-automatic : Cut the fruit in two
halves, put the fruit on the cone, and then push the lever (no need to maintain
by hand)
Dedicated machine is
#70
and
#10
- Full automatic :
Just poor the oranges, and that is done !
Dedicated (big) machine is
#32
2) All fruits and vegetables
Apple, carrot, watermelon, apricot, cucumber,
pineapple, all exotic fruits.. can be juiced with a centrifugal juice
extractor.
Dedicated machines are
#58 /
#28 and
#50
"citrus" family fruits could be juiced with a
centrifugal juice extractor, but :
- They must be peeled before
- The juice obtained will not have enough of
that particular pulp we like to have with orange, lemon, or grapefruit.
Be carefull :
- Strong skin fruits must be peeled (watermelon should be peeled, whereas it
is not necessary to peel apples)
- Nucleus (stones) must be removed (apricot, peach...)
- All fruits must be washed.
How to choose
between #58 and
#50 Juice Extractors ?
These 2 machines are the same
technology, BUT :
#50 is more "table top" than #58
(#50 has lower dimensions).
Because it has a smaller waste container and smaller basket, #50 must be cleaned
more often than #58.
#50 has been especially designed for JUICE BARS, whereas #58 has taken place in
all big hotels all over the world.
Power, Output, ratio are slightly the same on the 2 machines. #58 is more
expensive, but more comfortable.
